CannaWorkforce Solutions Kicked Off 2024 by Attending the SUNY Cannabis Conference at NCCC
On January 8th and 9th, CannaWorkforce Solutions attended the SUNY Cannabis Conference hosted by Niagara County Community College. This two-day event was action-packed with various activities and discussions related to the cannabis industry. The conference was a space for cannabis enthusiasts to come together and share groundbreaking insights, discuss cutting-edge research and technology, and explore unique opportunities within the flourishing Cannabis industry.
The turnout was impressive and included vendors, sponsors, cannabis experts, and inquiring guests from all over the country! The CannaWorkforce Solutions team had a booth where they discussed cannabis career opportunities in New York State. The booth gave the team the chance to create connections throughout the cannabis community. It was fascinating to learn the different motivations that led individuals to become part of this up-and-coming industry.
Overall, the conference exceeded all expectations! To kick off the conference on January 8th, Maggie Shea, Partner at CannaWorkforce Solutions, had the opportunity to attend culinary demonstrations that focused specifically on the culinary uses of cannabis, like infusing live resin. She then enjoyed a delicious CBD infused meal at Savor, an upscale dining restaurant at the Niagara County Culinary Institute. The food and cocktails were prepared by the very talented student chefs studying at the Institute. Maggie also had a front row seat to the first-ever, nationally sanctioned, American Culinary Federation culinary cannabis competition where contestants faced off to showcase their creativity and skill. Each participant brought forth a new and unique perspective to the cannabis cuisine.
On the second day of the conference, on January 9th, Maggie was joined by CannaWorkforce Solutions Talent Acquisition Specialists, Sheri Courteau and Carolyn Case, for a day of learning. They listened to engaging presentations from leading experts in the field covering an array of topics like medical cannabis, cannabis genetics, restorative agriculture, processing technology, and policy. Whether you are a rookie or a legacy in the industry, the diverse insights shared by keynote speakers were enlightening and enriched everyone’s experience.
The SUNY Cannabis Conference was a great way to start a year of innovation as New York State continues to navigate the cannabis industry. It provided an invaluable opportunity to learn the benefits of cannabis and witness the intersection of culinary artistry and cannabis exploration. CannaWorkforce Solutions is excited to continue supporting the growth of the New York cannabis market and looks forward to participating in upcoming cannabis events!
